Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you all know that I’m starting up the blog again! I know that many of you have been wondering why I disappeared, and I wanted to take a moment to explain.
The break wasn’t planned. It happened gradually as I dealt with more and more change. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and months became years.
The truth is, I, like a lot of people, have been through a lot in the past few years.
In 2019, my grandfather unexpectedly passed away after a sudden stroke. He had been recovering well and then passed peacefully in his sleep.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Like everyone else, my life was turned upside down. While I took a lot of this time in isolation to deal with grief, it was a radical change from my regular day-to-day.
In 2021, I changed jobs. I now work in non-profit digital fundraising which has been an absolute blast.
But at the end of 2021, my remaining grandmother suddenly passed away… On Christmas. Yeah.
In the midst of all of this, I was also diagnosed with a chronic illness—fibromyalgia. The chronic pain, migraines, and lethargy were a lot to handle, and I needed to take some time for myself to heal and adjust.
There were good things too, including the births of my two nephews. They are a blast! I turned 30 in 2022. And a girls’ trip to NYC during Christmas last year. And, of course, seeing Taylor Swift at the Eras Tour in Arlington.
But because of all of the chaos, I wasn’t in the headspace to write or share parts of my life.
Now I’m feeling ready to start blogging again. I’ve missed sharing my thoughts and experiences with you all, and I’m excited to hear what you’ve been up to as well.
In the future, I plan to write about a variety of topics, including:
- Midsize fashion tips and tricks
- Lifestyle tips and navigating a chronic illness
- Beauty products
- Mental health and self-care
- Personal development and growth
I also plan to share more about my experiences with grief, loss, and chronic illness. I hope that by sharing my story, I can help others who are going through similar things.
Thank you for your understanding and support. I’m so happy to be back!
Much love,
Courtney
